3939 How many in Le Marche?

We arrived 4 years ago now and in our town of Cingoli we were quite the novelty with the locals!

Now the area seems to have opened up more and over time we have slowly met more holiday home owners and a few who have braved the move or who will be taking the leap in the next year or so.

Are there more of you out there and if so how long have you been here? Has anyone already organised a get together?

Look forward to hearing from you all!

Andria

Hi Andria, We have a house near Cervidone on the way to Fillotrano. A get together sounds like a good idea.

I was looking at the MEMBERS' MAP today........there are plenty of folk "over there"!

Tony,

You are really near to us........are you living here full time now? I think either the others are currently shy or gripped by football fever! We should arrange to meet up for a drink in Cingoli this summer in the very least!

Tuscanhills,

Yes I have seen there are a good dozen or so spread out over the region but I was hoping to hear from a few! In particular those nearer to me. I am sure there are more who are not yet on the map as well.

Quite often the info bit in people's profiles is not filled in and you cant access a profile directly from the map, so you have to write their names down and find them after.

Andria

If you click on the members name within their balloon on the map, it will take you directly to their profile. :)

Thank you...........I did try that but it would not go through. I think it was probably my computer then as it was being very slow at the time. I have looked most up seperately now but few write much if any on their profile so the only other way is to trawl through threads posted or look at a web link if they have posted one.:p

:) Hi Andrea, we have a house in Cupramontana, but not living there yet, will be visiting sometime August, a get together sounds brill.

Hi we're in le Marche as often as possible at our house near Monte san Martino - close to Amandola and Sarnano. Bought the house just over a year ago, gradually making it smarter, I love it there so much. Usually get a bit tearful when we have to leave. We hope to live there full time one day but not until my stepson can fly solo on Ryanair which is at least 4 years off still. Think we're quite a distance from you though - bit further south. This is our place http://marche-italy-villas.com
Back there in September for a week then there at Xmas and New Year for two weeks I hope, fancy trying a bit of skiing! Have you tried skiing in the Sibillini at all?
Marina

Hi Andria, we have a house in Torchiaro not far from Fermo only used for holidays at present we will be over for two weeks from 28th June also end of September and definitely over Christmas and new year and we would like to meet up with anyone who fancies a chinwag over a drink or two.

Hi Andrea

We are moving to Pergola - a little north of you - next month - or possibly August.

Andria, not living full time at the moment but we are frequent visitors, we are over next weekend for 5 days and then for 2+ weeks at the end of August. I will be going over to Cervidone next spring for a few months to start the downstairs renovation of the house.

Ciao!

It looks like most people are out this Aug, Sept or around Christmas. It's probably best to post nearer the time with dates and then anyone who is around can make contact and arrange to meet for drinks or coffee etc. Judging by the areas people have responded from so far, Macerata would be fairly central. We are around most of the summer and am happy to try and meet individuals or small groups.

I will send back a few quick replies direct....still a newbie with the replies and quote inclusion so bear with me!

I know many who have tried skiing in the Sibillini and really enjoyed it....my son went for the first time last year. My husbad and I are not 'mad' on skiing so have been very lazy so far!

Fermo and surrounds are lovely........quaint stone walled villages and lovely little shops. We have in-laws who live in Montappone so know the area fairly well.

Hope your move goes well...........let us know when you are settled and if you want to meet up we can arrange it then.

Thanks Andria
I tried skiing when I was 15 and hated it (ghastly adolescent that I was) but 30 years later am willing to have another go or at the least indulge in a little light tobogganing. Am keen to get my 9 year old step son going - sometimes i think being a hot skier is a bigger advantage in later life than going to university..
My Austrian sister in law has said she'll try to teach us. Need to do more research about nursery slopes and hire places but plenty of time yet.
Any tips anyone has bout skiing for beginners in the Sibillini above Sarnano gratefully received.

M

Most people I know go to Sassotetto (sorry if I have spelt that wrong ) but it is in the area you are talking of. There are quite a few ski hire shops just before and in the vicinity and you can hire equipment by the day if you want. I believe day lift passes were about 20 Euros each.........but I can confirm that if you want after speaking to a friend. They have slopes of all levels including nursery and I believe you can book lessons as well. My son went there on a ski trip and they had instructors and hires all the gear etc.

The only thing is that the slightest bit of bad weather like wind...or even snow if you can believe it and the slopes close. It's always adviseable to phone first the day before or on the day you intend to set off to avaoid disapointment. I don't have a number but can ask for you.

Andria

Thats great - would love to have a number if you can find one. many thanks..
