Welcome to the Forum,
You'll get plenty of advice from many people on here, but in the meantime you may be interested to know that there is a Sunday Times/Cadogan guide to "Buying a Property in Italy" written by Monica Larner and John Howell.
Try this one from C. Gordon Neale.....

It's more up-to-date (Oct 2005) and goes into the buying process in more detail.
Saying that, as Simone rightly says, search the forum and ask questions. You'll get just as much information here.

Now stop trying to put me off!!!
I am extremely well versed with sardinia as my parents are both sardinian, my first language is sardinian and my holidays (we live in Wales) have always been in sardinia, and I hold dual nationality.
We were on holiday this year and out of interest decided to enquire about house prices and lo and behold we find ourselves potential owners of a new house in the south of Sardinia.
My appeal for help is born of the fact that I have not done any research I am looking to your goodselves for advise, so all contributions atr gratefully accepted.
Ciao JoJo
etc etc

Very nice you'll have a quick ride from the airport once the motorway links up with Cagliari which I think is 2008.A good place to buy now.We bought through My Villa in Sardinia found them very good. How about yourselves.

through a local agent we got to know whilst on holiday at the Porto Corallo village in Villaputzu. Would you mind if I sent you a private messagein order to ask for your advice?
Ciao to all
Have discovered this site quite by accident but am so glad I have found it!
I need advice on buying a property in Sardinia, we have seen a house which we have fallen in love with, it has been taken off the market pending our arranging the finances for it, but I am confused about what I need to do.
We are purchasing through an estate agent, and I wish to know whether I would need to employ a geometra, and a solicitor in this country as obviously we will be employing a notaio locally.
This of course will be the first lot of many questions I need to ask so apologies in advance
Many thanks
Welcome to the Forum,
You'll get plenty of advice from many people on here, but in the meantime you may be interested to know that there is a Sunday Times/Cadogan guide to "Buying a Property in Italy" written by Monica Larner and John Howell.
It was written in 2002, but a great deal will not have changed since then.
I found the book in Tesco, but if you can't find it readily there or elsewhere, the ISBN number is 1-86011-879-8 if you need to order it from a bookseller.
You may find many of the answers to your future questions in there. All you need to do is check the current situation as you meet it.
SIMON. :)
