I was wondering how it is to live in the Marche region? When did you buy the house? I never been to that region and I heard it is the best kept secret in Italy.
Do you speak fluent italian? Well have to go, need to make money so I can retire in Itlay.

Le Marche is lovely, some would say "magical", very peaceful once you're away from the coast, I bought my little farm a couple of years ago, don't speak fluent Italian as yet, still struggling with English.
Understand an invasion of Marche currently underway, from a strange race of people wearing flat caps with pigeons and whippets, muttering howayman and ahdivventnaa ???
Welcome to the forum though, good to have you aboard, now, get back to work, get that money earned... :)

As George has said, it is extremely beautiful and peaceful. Adesso, mio italiano e' molto bene. Ho studiato italiano per tre anni, va bene!.
Well, I can usually manage our italian bank on the phone so it is coming along.
Our house is very close to the hilltop village of Peglio, Provincia Pesaro/Urbino. We signed the compresso end of June this year. As for 'italys best kept secret', I'm not a fan of that over used expression. '.....call it paradise, kiss it goodbye....'.
George, the Tall Ships sailed up the Tyne yesterday, under an azure blue sky - a sight for sore eyes and no mistake. The masts of the bigger russian ships were taller than the Baltic!! 35 of them are now moored along the quayside and we have a 'geordie' festival going on

I wrote it in another thread:
I think that Marche has the best of Italy.
It's a rich region, but not work addicted like some zones in the north (i.e. Milan).
It's an area full of history, each town has its old center, generally very well preserved, with monuments, theatres, museums.
The nature is great: hills of unbeliveble beauty, mountains, landscapes...
There are not big cities and so there are not the problems related to a city (traffic, pollution, crime etc)
Marchigiani are serius, simple and honest, may be not as funny as neapolitans, but who cares?
I give you an idea of how easy can be living in Porto Recanati.
I start working at 8,30, my office is just around the corner of my home, so I don't need to take the car.
At 12,30 there's lunch breack, I cross 4 streets, reach my kids on the beach, have a rapid swim, than go back to my house, lunch, little siesta and back in office for the afternoon working.
I still have my 8 hours working (or more if necessary), but meanwhile time for my family, and a bit of relax.
Not so bad....
Abruzzo, but also Umbria, Toscana and part of Emilia-Romagna are similar
... to Ian and Sandra:
"Adesso il mio italiano va molto meglio" sounds better in italian, but don't worry, my english is worst, or "il mio inglese va peggio" :D

To the 'Notaio'
Thankyou very much! - I know my italian is not yet great, but it will improve - your english is very, very good.
For 'Le Marche', it is one of the most engaging and beguiling of places on this planet.
Your advice through this forum has already saved me a substantial sum of money - for that I am eternally grateful. I hope we can meet some day.

It is good is'nt it. Very easy to get addicted. we've been doing it now for about two months and we're hopeless cases - in real terms, on advice gleaned, it has saved us about €5,000.00 on a house purcase in Le Marche, so that can't be bad. Keep coming in.
