10619 Insurance policy to pay taxes ?

Please can anyone help :eerr:

We are applying for residency and have been told by our commune that as we are not retired or working for an Italian company we will have to take out an Insurance policy to pay our taxes. They say this is the best and cheapest way. We asked if this was soley for health purposes, but was told that it was for all taxes to the government and the local comune.

Has anyone else come across this ? We are entiteld to our E106, but it appears that without this insurance we will not get residency !

Help please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It contains most things you need to know & some you don't!
Have a good read & then ask any specific questions that occur to you &, I'm sure the nice folk here will try & help!

Thanks for that. We belive that this insurance is not to pay taxes but is indeed health insurance. We will ask the person round that they recommended and take it from there, and if it is only for health we will argue that our E106's are sufficient !

We have E106's too and they worked just fine - we got our tessera from the local health authority without any problems, dated up to when we will be 60 ( 5 years from then in my case ). I think we will then be able to get it renewed on the basis of being over 60 and pensioners. The commune should take the tessera as proof that you are covered for medical costs.
