3947 Reservation Fee on Off Plan Property

I wonder if anyone can telll me if you can retrieve your reservation fee once you have put one down on a property in Italy.

I am seriously considering withdrawing from a property in Italy which will be purchased through a company called Medsea plc and I wanted to understand my position regarding my reservation fee.

I wonder if anyone else can tell me if they have been in this position and what my legal position is?

Thanks Carol

Hi.

Can I ask why you are withdrawing? Only I am buying through medsea at the moment.

Chris

I thought it might be helpful to let everyone know that Medsea have agreed to refund my reservation fee and have been most helpful and friendly in the process.

It's nice to hear that even though things haven't gone as you originally planned that things have been resolved amicably without any fuss.

I obviously don't know anything about your case but i was surprised to see that you had your reservation fee refunded. I would say this is rare where people just change their mind.

I know there is an issue with making negative comments on companies on this forum, but I always find i am more inclined to listen to cases where there have been problems, but there is still a good deal of positive feedback to be heard.

I would be interested in hearing the details of your case, even if it is 'i went over to italy looked at it, put money down, got back to blighty and thought.....oh my god!!!'. If that is the case then you have been treated extremely well.

Andy

You are absolutely right about the fact that it is not normal to refund a reservation fee and this was done because of a particular set of personal circumstances, which I would prefer not to discuss in an open forum, not because we just changed our mind.

However given that this is the case they were still extremely helpful and we hope that at some future date we can come back to the idea of a property in Italy.

Carol,

Sorry, was not trying to have a dig there. Pleased to hear they listened and understood. Was simply trying to point out that good, effective customer service will keep people coming back.

Whatever your circumstances are, i hope you resolve them soon and get yourself back on track to find your dream property.

Considering how well you have been treated, let me guess where your first prot of call will be????
