Hello,

Thought that the best way to get the forum back on track (although I think things will quiet down now naturally) and actually make it an interesting place where to discuss Italy related subjects is to take the initiative and lead discussions.

By this I mean that we should be more proactive in creating topics of discussions, the idea being that if there is something interesting to discuss more people will join in. Also if it is not a "controversial" member that starts the thread hopefully this will mean that others from the "fighting club" will not feel the need to be controversial.

All the best,

Ronald

Hi Ronald,

I think this is a great idea. Probably the easiest way to do this will be to introduce topics covered in the most recent edition of the magazine, as well as what might be current news in Italy/Britain if appropriate.

Most of the usual suspects have appeared time and again so bringing in fresh subjects might serve to liven up the forum a bit with less of the sniping.

Hi Ronald,

Sounds like a good idea for me too. It should keep them busy!! :)

What we then have to watch out for, and which is still happening alot, is that someone picks out someone else's comments in various threads just for the sake of it. I find that a bit unnerving to be honest.

Personally, I would like to see more information discussed for visitors of Italy too. There are plenty of useful threads for people moving but others might just be interested in different areas as a holiday destination to start with. I know this could end up like the pro/contra Puglia debate (hopefully not!) but it would be nice to hear more about individual regions, local traditions, maybe historic details. Alternatively, perhaps discussions about artists & places of cultural interest too?

Just some ideas... :)
