I wish you luck but with the spiralling costs of heating oil and gas it could cost 500 euros a month to heat a two bed. house or apartment. Just a thought.

I assumed that was 500 euros a month BEFORE utilities are paid for? A 2 bedroom flat, acceptable to say an English or American person would cost more than that in Umbria. Perhaps better to go and search once there. The local Tourist Office sometimes has someone who is in the know and can help you.

I feel I need toclarify a few things
1 As post states we are looking in Cheiti a region of Abruzzo.
2 500 euros excludes utilities
Thanks to everyone on the forum there are plenty of places at 400-500 euros per month that I have been pm'd with or with agents and we are busy viewing these.
