Thats a bit like asking how long is a piece of string. In that Italy has, including Sicily and Sardegna about 60 islands ranging from the islands in the Venetian lagoon ,to those along the Tuscan coast, ofF the Roman coast, those in the gulf of Naples, those surrounding Sicilia and the tremiti islands in the Adriatic.
Saying this not to be finnicky but the fact is they are all completely different.
varying sizes, climates and populations with the consequent variations in real estate prices.IF you're looking at places like Capri it'd probably be cheaper in Hampstead,on the other hand you can still find things on the larger islands at reasonable prices but again with very big variations according to single localities for example places like Taormina (eastern Sicily) or the Costa Smeralda in Sardegna (but we're back to Hapstead again) are very expensive venues.Best suggestion would be to focus on a single island or arcipelago that you think you might like then it woukl be very much easier to help you with ball park figures for the place, also distinguishing between appartment dwellings, indipendent houses, new build, old or traditional places. Many islands, like the Eolian islands (which by the way are fantastic and not to be missed) have immense restrictions and it can sometimes be almost impossible to make even tiny variations on existing buildings.IF you were generally referring to Sicily and or Sardegna then they are both very big places ,each coast line is very different from the next, some with very spolit bits of coastline like the area around Augusta province of Siracusa Sicily with the oil refinery "on the beach",other parts better than in films...
so come back with your question referred to a place in parrticular and i'm sure someone could help you with price info.
