This was the first area we considered and absolutely loved it. However we then took a trip to san ginesio (macerata area) and we were smitten. If you want to know more about cupramontana, send an email to simon or james at piscine e giardini - just do a google search or they advertise in some of the italian magazines. They have been there for a long time and should be able to give you a good overview of the area.
Hope this helps

Perhaps a point to consider might be how much snow you get in Winter?, just looking at the area it seems to vary between 500 and 600m so I would expect some at that hight.Depends if you are keen on winter sports, also it probably gets much colder than lower down in the hills, so think about heating bills, a much debated topic on this forum with some very knowledgable peoples advice . A search on the forum should find the threads for you.
