2985 Sports in Abruzzo

Having had a look through google, I'm now having a few difficulties in finding out where the main sports facilities are in and around Sulmona, or further afield throughout abruzzo.:confused:

Firstly, i'm looking for swimming pools and water parks for different time of year. Also, an ice rink would be good too. Anything else anyone knows about which is just turn up and pay for me and two boys (9&12) would be good.:D

theres a water park at tortoretto which is open in the summer... most towns / cities here have municipal pools maybe try going into the communes site... popoli.. is that how you spell it has lots of pools but they are generally smelly...

you also find that there are private clubs as well.. maybe try searching on that sort of thing... in teramo theres the public pool and then the pool at the private club, then theres the tennis club, the football club in virtually every village...

here in our small village theres always a big five a side tournament through the summer at the sports club, but the main activity seems to be bowls the italian version.

as regards ice skating i know theres a permanent rink at rocarasso, and i dont know if other cities do it but Teramo has a rink that they get in to the main square... generally from late jan to mid march, all the children spend their afternoons skating round ... its still going now.. past the advertised date... it just seems that they make a bit of an effort to get these things organised here in italy.. so maybe sulmona might even have one each year..

the other big thing is karting... you should find them all over... i dont like zoos too much ... but if you are down castel de sangro way they have one just to the south.. not massive .. and not too well kept...but there are the bears for which it and abruzzo is famous.. a bit sad to see them behind bars... but thats zoos everywhere..

that reminds me castel also has a big swimming pool complex.. outdoors so for summer... with big slides etc... next door to that is also a fishing lake ...which you can rent rods etc at... that also another thing there are lots of ...

... giocho land at guilianova... one of those sort of ball park adventure grounds... silvi ...which i guess is most probably the closest beach to you must have lots going on for children...
