Many of the Spring timetables (from 28/29 March 09) are now available and unfortunately nothing at all comes up for the CIA - Luton route.
The good news is that many of the flights whose frequency was cut for the Winter timetable will be back to daily from the spring.

Again I will say that Ryanair are very good at announcing new routes in advance but absolutely appalling that they stay shtoom about the ones they intend to stop. Such bad PR.
Also they should edit now their Destination Map as it still shows the Luton - Ciampino route. It contravenes advertising standards here.

Yes, I was trying it for Stansted to Bologna or Forli flights last night and although the timetable (such as it is) implies that the flights exist, the booking system can't find any. This is different from other flights which do not operate over the Winter, where if you try to book, you get a message telling you the periods of operation.

[quote=chrisnotton;101721]Ciao e tutti,
Tried to make some of my usual Luton-Ciampino bookings with R. this morning.
Everything is coming up empty! The route is still listed but I get
"Sorry, there are no available flights..."
on any dates. Also I can't find a timetable.
Anybody know anything
It is one of the casualties?

Nothing on Easyjet to/from Ciampino after 2nd. of November either! I dont think I'll be going back until the new timetables come out next year!! That or Fiumicino with no online check-in

Stansted - forli stopped on 26th October when Ryanair dumped Forli and switched to Bologna. You should be able to make bookings to Bologna ok.
I feel very sorry for Forli. Its a nice airport and hey have put a lot of investment in and upgraded the facilities over the last 4 years as Ryanair increased their routes to there - this summer there were flights from Stansted, Dublin, Frankfurt, Birmingham and, I think, Valencia. Now they have next to nothing as Ryanair have decamped to Bologna. However, I dont know Ryanair's side of the story of course!

Yes had a look at Forli's website, and only Windjet and Belle Air use it now. Sad

From the R'air site - new routes:
From Bologna (Forli) To Alghero 04 Dec 08
Bari 04 Dec 08
Cagliari 04 Dec 08
Olbia 05 Dec 08
Palermo 04 Dec 08
Lamezia 04 Dec 08
As of early Dec they will only offer internal flights - perhaps the problem lay with the international customs and passport control side of things?

I wonder what it would do to house prices in Puglia if Ryanair cancelled the Brindisi route?

I think the routes anne2 has listed are not so much about domestic flights being less hassle for the airlines, more that the assumptions for 'next year' are that Italians will want to fly to Sicily, Puglia and Calabria rather than zooming off to exotic destinations.
Italians are unflaggingly enthusiastic tourists, but will be tightening their belts. I think it can only be very good news for Sardinia (in particular), because the 'established' air connections are pretty hopeless and expensive.
Yes I passed comment a few days ago here in this. It seems so. Perhaps though all will be well with the new spring timetables.
