Firstly we've been looking at Mirabilandia theme park as a place to visit but cannot find prices for individuals anywhere (not even on their website), does anyone know how much it costs or if it's possible to book online beforehand?

Here is the link ----- https://www.superoffertamirabilandia.it/btc/index.html?locale=it#0 However it does say elsewhere that online booking is only available from April 9th. I did not test the system so don't know if it is actually up an running yet or whether you will have to wait!
An online adult ticket is €28-50 and it is valid for two consequetive days - ie you book for the Tues and the Wed is free, but you must remember to exchange your ticket for a special bracelet just before the exit as you leave on the first day. If you do book online the ticket is not refundable but it does avoid the entrance queues. This ticket does not include the beach but you can pay the supplement once there.
When are you thinking of going? I would avoid weekends from mid June onwards once the schools have broken up and all of August - during those times you will spend your time in horrendous queues.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your helpful replies,
In answer to the theme park question we'd be looking to go sometime between the 11th and 25th July, probably two consequtive weekdays...the booking site is helpful, thanks for that link...hopefully I'll have learned a bit of italian by then and be able to understand some of their online form.
Are tickets the same price on the gate and does the 2 days offer still apply?
Thanks

I think you do save a little bit by buying tickets online but not sure how much - you would certainly save on time queuing to get in. Last year the two day offer applied to all tickets so I presume it will be the same this year.

There is an excellent market that takes up the centre of Umbertide on a Wednesday morning so make a note to go there. It's easy to take the local railway (not the state railway) out of Umbertide to places like Sansepulcro so check out where trains travel to from Umbertide station. Citta' di Castello is nearby and a pleasant small town to visit.

Umbertide to Perugia by train is fun. although you have to take a bus from the train station up into town

No no no .....you take the fabulous Minimetro (little silver carriages on rails) from Perugia station right into the centro storico but unless it's Umbria Jazz Festival, they do not run late at night back to the station so check the return times. 1 euro a trip. As you exit you'll pass Ristorante del Sole which has good food and a wonderful view across to Assisi.
Montone is very close to Montecastelli. Lovely place for a laid back stroll. See Slow Travel Italy - Montone, a small town in northern Umbria which though a bit out of date does give lots of local links
