Well they will just have to buy one.

Those without computers (or access to one) seem to be just 3% of Ryanair's customers, a proportion that is presumably going down all the time. They presumably book on the telephone and will probably be able to check-in on the telephone, either at the time of booking or upto four hours before the flight.
I think Ryanair is right, it is a logical next step. Many retailers and banks are making us,the customers, do more of the work ourselves, Ikea make us lug our furniture home and assemble it, supermarkets make us do the check out and banks charge premiums for services that we won't do ourselves on-line.
Where will it all end one wonders?

It'll end when no one has a job :winki:

Suspect that they may have to put internet terminals in the airport (& of course charge for the privilege of using it) - if you don't have a computer there are internet cafes and places like libraries or people can ask friends (we do this in Italy as we don't have internet access there)

jepsonclough has made an important point. Most Ryanair travellers do return journeys, and will have to go out of their way to find a computer (with attached printer, remember) before they can check-in from their holiday destination. Unless, that is, Ryanair have done something useful at zero cost to themselves and allow check-in via mobile phone SMS or similar.

Surely it would all depend upon the time scales involved? As it stands at the moment online check-in is available from 14 days to 4 hours prior to departure so it is currently often possible to check in for the return before you have even left home!
Many other airlines incl BA & Lufthansa already offer online check in even if you have hold luggage, admittedly this is optional but R'air are not proposing anything new, just more extensive and compulsory!

I think you can now check in, both ways, 14 days in advance of flying, with handluggage. Perhaps this new Ryanair rule will encourage more Italians to buy PC's for home use? They are certainly way behind the English as far as having a PC at home. Can you imagine an 85 year old Nonna sending emails???? Well my Mother in law in the UK does, almost every day!
