11798 Peugeot 406

The Peugeot 406 is a wonderful car especially the estate version. It has an engine and a wheel on each corner.

It is possible to carry large amounts of luggage in a Peugeot 406 at no extra charge; other than the increased fuel usage because of weight.

Having such a wonderful vehicle enabled us to drive to Italy with a large amount of luggage, and two dogs.

The legroom was very good and the on board radio kept us entertained on the journey.

We also had a satellite navigation system rigged up to a laptop, so the navigator could play computer games during the boring bits.

It was also possible to carry and use a mobile phone. Unfortunately there was no onboard toilet facility but frequent stops at motorway service stations or café/restaurants solved that problem and also provided the opportunity for other refreshment.

Using the Peugeot 406, we were also able to buy no end of stuff on the journey and did not have to cram it into hand luggage.

Unfortunately this type of travel does not come with a standard price and you have to account for a few extras, like road tolls on the way or even perhaps a breakdown. This is why it is advisable to have some insurance and breakdown cover.

There is no priority boarding but you can chose who you travel with and where you sit, although if you chose the seat with the steering wheel and pedals you are expected to drive.
It is also possible to have an overhead locker, called a top box, which provides even more storage and frees up more space in the vehicle.

I can not praise the Peugeot 406 too highly, it is a wonderful mode of transport.

Has anyone else used a Peugeot 406?
