2217 Late arrival at Ciampino Airport

Has anybody arrived on the late flight to Rome airport and found accommodation very close - not in the centre of Rome. We are considering using this flight and then travelling on the next day up to Lake Trasimeno. We only require a bed for the night - we will have hired a car. We need a hotel/accommodation to be open after midnight.

ciao yorkshirelass i presume you are travelling to ciampino with ryanair or easyjet, if you go to the ryanair website www.ryanair.com click the link for hotels then the next link for airport hotels scroll down until you come to rome ciampino you have a choice of 2 hotels i have to say that i have never used them but in my experience of booking as long as you state that you will check in late then there is not usually a problem hope this helps buon viaggio ciao marco

Hi yorkshirelass,
We are booked on the Teesside/Ciampino late arrival flight early in January (it gets in about 11.45pm so we will get to the hotel after midnight!) so have a reservation at hotel Palacavicchi. (I believe it has a 24 hour check-in desk but you maybe should confirm that-also has an airport shuttle bus if that is any use to anyone hoping to make onward plans for the day after late arrival).
Looking at the maps it is very close to the runway so whether we actually get any sleep is anybody's guess.
Our assignment the next morning is a trip to Ikea (just round the corner at Anagnina) before we head off down South...
Wish us luck!!
If you want any more info re the hotel we have chosen just get in touch (found it via either easyjet or ryanair website -can't remember which - but had to do a lot of narrowing down to hotels near the airport as they were determined to find us something in the middle of Rome by default (just what wasn't wanted on this occassion).
Cheers Lesley & Brian

Many thanks. I've found this hotel and they have confirmed they are open 24 hours so this looks perfect for us.
