2437 Pisa/Luca Hotels/Restaurants

We fly in to any one of Nizza, Torino, Genova or Pisa depending on flight availability and prices. This time it's Pisa, for only our second time (mid February).

We'll be out of the airport, hopefully, at about 13:00 on the Saturday and we'll be looking for an interesting lunch before driving for about three hours to Colletta di Castelbianco near Alassio (www.colletta.it).

Anybody got a recommendation?

On the way back we are thinking of staying in Lucca overnight and spending a day there before taking the flight on the Sunday evening. Any recommendations for hotels and restaurants?

Grazie mille!

Ciao

Interesting. I read an article a few months ago about this place. Have you bought a property there? Just curious.

Oops, just saw your other posting. You have bought there.

We stayed in Lucca via www.LaCasadiClio.com & enjoyed every second!

If you can get out of the airport quickly then I suggest you get on the Autostrada and go to the port of Viareggio - this is where some of the most beautiful monster sailing and cruising boats are built for the seriously super rich. You can see finished and half finished exmples poking out of their hangers (are they called hangers for boats? ed.) But before you do you should go to one of the small restaurants around that area where you will be served the best value and most delicous fish lunch you will ever eat in your life...possibly. This is where a lot of the boatyard workmen eat from a special menu of the day but they all do have a posh menu too.
