So happy for the marchigiani - they bought in Abruzzo! And please tell me its not on again, it just keeps coming back to haunt us. I went off to have new hair, and new look after seeing myself, and have sent David off to the uk for some enhancements!

What enhancements? Every morning I get emails offering enhancement drugs by mail. Seems easier than sending the poor devil all the way back there for them:D I hope everyone else is getting them as well, as they are starting to make me feel a little inadequate:(

It's OK, your safe Villa sibillini. You can come out and take the dark glasses and scarf off. It's "A place in the sun" Rina is talking about, not "A place in Italy", but now we know who to look out for when it's repeated again. :D
I hope the TV keeps up it's usual good work and repeats it over and over again. I love repeats. Let us know if you find out when it's on again. Can't wait!

We are enjoying an unusually active patch of 'bookings' saying they will send us extra funds, so that we can send them on to either transport companies, or flight organisers, to save them making lots of payments either by cheque or credit card. They all seem to be out of africa (wasn't that a film?)
Anyone else had them - by the way which of the medicine sites provide the best deals? David was asking.......

As a powerhouse and pillar of the local community - surely he can afford to pay for his advertising. If not - tell him to organise a whip round.

As a friend of his and in these dark times I thought doing a favour and helping out was a good thing!

Colin, please read the forum rules before posting. I have deleted your post above.
Italy Magazine Forums - Announcements in Forum : Introduce Yourself - Piacere Conoscerti
"We have a simple, common sense and liberal set of rules which we expect every poster to follow. In posting a message you are agreeing to the rules laid out here. If you do not agree to the rules, best not to post. The forums are provided as a free service, please don't ruin them for everyone else."
In particular, please see the section on Trade Advertising:
"Trade Advertising
No one is allowed to start a new thread with the sole reason of saying: I have a villa for rent or a flat to rent or anything else to sell or buy.
You can have a link to your business in your signature. This is probably the most efficient way to advertise your company. You can also have an e-mail and a phone number. BUT the signature should not be in a HUGE font size and should not go over two lines (see signature size rules). We also reserve the right to ask people to change their signature if we feel it is too big, etc.
You can answer to a post that is requesting services which are relevant to your business to say to say - "Hey, I have a flat there - get in touch", and you can also add your link. However, if we notice that a person visits the forums with the explicit purpose of advertising their company without contributing to any other discussions then this right will be revoked. The thinking behind this is as follows – we are all part of a community and it is only natural that one member of the community would let another one know what they do and how they can help.
You can answer to a post to recommend a company. We will take the point of view that such recommendations are genuine unless we notice that a particular person is doing nothing but recommending a specific company. Only members that have already contributed in other ways in the forum should do this (i.e. you can't sign up just to recommend someone and then disappear!).
You cannot answer to a post to say that a company has been really terrible and you will never use them again in your life because they were so terrible. You can get in touch with us and let us know about this and we will consider whether to let the post go through or not. The reason is simple – we need to verify that a bad review is truthful. Any bad reviews posted without our approval will be removed immediately.
Essentially, we are not against people letting other people know about their business. But this is a forum to discuss about Italy. If you are an active member that contributes to all forms of discussion then the occasional plug (if and only if in context) is fine – alternatively its not and will be removed."

I apologise if my posting looked like an ad. I thought these posts were so that people could offer help or advice - which was my reason for posting. I know how difficult buying & renovating a property in Italy can be and I just wanted to help minimise the difficulties for people by recommending someone I know.
From what I remember, they got upset after viewing some farmhouse where some rabbits were being mistreated (Italians mistreating animals, whatver next) and in the end did not buy.
