3844 Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, Sorrento

Hello everyone

I am hoping that someone out there has been to the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza in Sorrento (well not really Sorrento, the address is Castellamare di Stabia) and can tell me if the hotel is nice, good place for a holiday, etc.

How far is the hotel from Castellamare town and is there anything actually there for teenagers to do in the evening ? Or is it better for them to go into Sorrento and how far is this ?

What did you think of Castellamare ? Good :D or bad  ???

Many thanks,
Kelly.

I've no idea! Trip Advisor usually acts as my guide on such matters & they have one review of the place.

This hotel is right on the coast road "via sorrentina" - just south of Castellammare di Stabia, it's a modern hotel and I think it has a small beach - but it will definately have a pool and I am sure it is part of the Intercontinental hotel chain - standards will be good and you should have a view of what I call the "other side" of Vesuvio.

As to if it is a good place to stay for a holiday.. well, there are worse.. and there are better locations.

Castellammare di Stabia is kind of a half way house - in between Napoli and Amalfi - neither one nor the other. It's about 50 mins to the centre of Naples and about the same to Amalfi if you know how to cut "through" the hills and go over rather than around (well worth it if you want to see some SPECTACULAR scenery, especially from the top of Agerola, which I HIGHLY recommend!

I guess it depends on what you plan to do there.. are you hiring a car or using public transport? What do you want to see and do there and how old are the teenagers? Hopefully, a thirteen year old wont want to party like a nineteen year old!

If you want to see some views of the area - go to "members blogs and galleries" on the Forum and click on the gallery for "Aliena". Some of the photo's there will give you some idea.

The whole area is great - I love this area and have family and friends there, so I know it fairly well. If you want to be more specific about what you are looking for.. I can try to help. :)
