Where is it???

The pool is truly to die for. I visited the place about three years ago, very much under construction. The English chap who set it up is ex Norman Foster, and he did a lot of the work himself. Spectacular website, too.
The plan was to have a bar, so for the cost of a drink you could check it out. Old Umbria meets hi-tech, with a bit of Buddhism thrown in has got to be a unique selling proposition. Near Montone - above Umbertide.

yep, it's the pool (and the fact that its heated) along with the tasteful but modern restoration that attracted me. I can't really pop in for a drink prior to booking though (a bit far to go from Glasgow for a quick pint, even for an old booze hound like me!) ... I can see from the website that the place has been done to a very high standard, just wanted the reassurance that it's not got a rubbish tip just out of camera shot, or a 16km white road, etc. etc.
I don't know what's happened to their website ... when I posted the link last night, it took me to a really high quality website with lots of pic's of pool, rooms, countryside, location maps etc. - but as I revisited today (to point Umbria Lover at the location map) it's been replaced with a dry/boring page of text. Judging by Gala's comment on the pool, I assume the link was working OK earlier today?
[EDIT - ah, just realised that the website doesn't load properly on my work PC but is fine on my home one ... looks like it requires Adobe flash player V9 to display the proper version (having spent $$$'s on the restoration, they might have spent 5 minutes on tarting up the non-flash alternative though!)
heres a simpler link meantime for those who don't flash ... Moravola: Luxury boutique hotels in Perugia - Umbria, Italy from Chic Retreats)]

It suggests that they put style above substance...
Either that, or all they could afford was an unqualified kid with a pirated copy of Dreamweaver.

Couldn't agree more in principle. Fortunately, on this occasion I'm pretty much looking for style over substance (as long as I can satisfy myself that the place is physically as per their glossy images!) - so I'm willing to suspend my techie angst just this once to get in the wife's good books .. man, that pool is stylish!

The fellow seems to be better at architecture than spelling....'paired down modern design' OMG. Anyway, if you are going to stay in a Boutique Hotel I think it is reasonable to assume you have the latest Flash player installed! And yes, it is quite a long way up a white road, about 15 mins from the E45 as I recall.

good. that'll save me having to hire the latest "flash" motor to arrive in then ... those pesky insurance deals always exclude damage to underside of the vehicle :winki:
The place looks superb. I will also be looking for any reports.
