9434 Hotel/Parking near Stansted

We need to do a quick trip to check up on the progress of our house (in Le Marche) - Liverpool - Rome flights (our usual route) are hideously expensive so we are looking at Stansted - Ancona (we have an LPG car so the fuel in the Uk is v c cheap). Does anyone know of a reasonably priced hotel/parking deal near Stansted. Added problem is that we have to go to a meeting at the children's new school the evening before we fly so might not get to Stansted until midnight.

Try this one. We have stayed there before and it was cheaper than the airport located Hotels.

Or try the Travelodge at Great Dunmow - slightly further from the airport so room rates are much less - not sure about being able to leave the car there though, but even with one of the cheaper, outside the airport parking fees often works out cheaper than many of the alternatives.

Tried Manchester-Rome on Jet2? OK they're usually a bit pricier than Ryanair but not always, and must be a lot nearer to you than Stansted.

Have you looked at the Stansted/Pescara flights Chris? They leave later so its possible to get there from up our way without staying overnight the night before..Its 2 hrs drive from Pescara to the Amandola area..

we have used the Holiday Inn Express hotel located on the airport just 5 mins or so from the terminal by courtesy bus provided by hotel. We think it is excellent value at around £80 for the night's accomodation (Double or family room), inc breakfast, and on site parking at less than the airport long term rates. Modern hotel with excellent standard of rooms.

The local tourist information office will usually give details of small bed + breakfast places with parking deals. We have spent a night and left the car near several airports, much cheaper than parking at the airport and a lovely breakfast as well.

we're a bit stuck on when we can go (balancing when my parents are home from holiday to have the children & when I can get tiem off work) & everything except Stansted - Ancona was expensive (although I hadn't thought of Pescara). We could go down in the morning but have decided to go down the night before. Will sort something out - probably the holiday inn express as I've stayed at the Liverpool one & it was fine.

We flew with our 'favourite' airline from Stansted to Ancona just before Easter and stayed overnight at the Stansted Hilton. The deal was for a double room with 8 nights parking and it cost £99. You pay £1pp for the transfer bus to the airport but nothing on return.

I thought this worth checking out as the flight to Perugia is VERY early in the morning from Stansted. Took me 5 emails, but in August for a room (sleeps 2 Adults + 2 kids) and to leave the car there for 15 days the Holiday Inn Express will charge £120. Haven't checked the price of Pink Elephant parking but thanks Alan sounds a good price. Does anyone know of anything cheaper to sleep and park?
