3944 Public Transport to Amandola

Can anyone help me to find out if there are buses from Amandola to Fermo/Porto San Giorgio or Ancona?

With my limited Italian I have fathomed out from trenitalia I can get easy trains from Rome or Bologna to Ancona or Fermo (I know www.trenitalia.it is available in english but I force myself to use the italian versions of everything as far as possible, otherwise I will never learn), but I then want to get to Amandola where my car will be parked!

I've got stuck trying to make sense of the autobus website! Any advice ~(that helps me find a public transport route to Amandola) welcome.

Arty not sure about buses from Fermo but I know there is definately a coach from Rome to Amandola which might help you - will check. A taxi from Fermo to Amandola is a possibility - not sure how much they would charge but I know of one driver who charges 70 euros to Ancona so Fermo would be quite a lot less I would think.
The train is always a possibility from Venice too - we had a mate come down last month - quickest trains about are 4 1/2 hours I think direct from Venice to fermo - about 30 euros. Nice to combine a night in Venice too.. And lots of cheap flights to venice available from the south of the UK..

Have a look at this site. It gives times of buses from Amandola to Porto S. Giorgio and Fermo. I think the Italian for the notes is self-evident, but just in case let us know and we'll translate them for you.

Hope this is of use to you.:)

Thanks for your replies ..... the bus from Rome is of interest as well. I am lining up our alternative routes to Amandola so that we can travel either to Bologna or Rome via our local airport at Gatwick. Marina the idea of going via Venice is an excellent one too - any excuse and we will go there, five visits so far!

Browsing the streat website right now!

Gratzie amici!

I have found this old threat and wonder whether it is possible to get a coach from Rome to Amandola or another part of S Marche e.g. Ascoli, Fermo.

yes, there's a bus everyday from Amandola to termini central station in Rome it leaves very promptly about 8.30 in the square and gets into Roma centrale at 12.30pm.The one bus a day return from Roma leaves at about 14.30pm and gets to Amandola at 18.30pm.it's cheap and highly reliable ,great for a trip for two or three days to Roma from this area.it does not however substitute a car once here which is pretty well essential always. There are a couple of buses a day to Fermo ,one early morning i think 6.45/7.00 ish one just after lunch. same the other way so unless you're going to spend the whole day down there it's a bit dispersive.
there should also be a bus to Macerata which passes thru Amandola but the times will as for the other buses ,be displayed on a board with the heading S.T.E.A.T orario outside one of the bars in the square in Amandola.p.s. no tickets on the bus you also get them at the bar (biglietto per l'autobus).

Thanks for that Sebastiano.

I am interested in getting the coach from Rome to Amandola. Is the termini station the main train station in Rome? I presume that I have to buy a ticket before I get on the coach. Can these be purchased at the train station and do you know how much the fare is.

Thanks
