Meta is a town in the Metropolitan City of Naples, in the Italian region Campania. Located on the main road that connects Naples to Sorrento, after Vico Equense, Meta is the second major centre of the area. The town also boasts an important artistic heritage, such as the Basilica of Santa Maria del Lauro, erected, according to the local traditions, in a place where once was built a temple dedicated to the goddess Minerva the Church of Santa Maria della Vittoria, the Church of Our Lady of Grace, the Church of the Assumption, the village of Alberi and the Church of the Holy Guardian Angels.
