house rental for a whole year anywhere in italy

 my wife, six month old twins and i want to spend a year in italy from september 2009. Anywhere in italy will be considered but we would prefer to be  relatively close to the cultural centres. We live in Kerry south- west Ireland and would even consider a house swap.  Any advice on renting for a year inclusive would be welcome. thanks
