EVENTS FOR THIS WEEKEND (18-19 JULY) AND SOMETHING FOR THE NEXT

Ciao to everyone,As a lot of you already known, I am new here. (You can see a my introduction post and a my gallery). I am from Le Marche, where I still live and what about me? I really love them!For this, Valentina has given me an interesting idea: If you love your land so much, why do you not give us some advice about sagre and festivals of them? -i have answered: mmm...why not? And so I am here, hoping to not be...boring.July (As August), is a magic month in Le Marche! There are so much things to do, to see...to taste! Say something about all of them is, perhaps, impossible...surely too long. So I try to select some of them, hoping they are interesting enough or enough close to you and you can partecipate.For this week-end, as already said, there are a lot of events. Starting from today (Saturday), until next saturday, there is the Feste Medievali in Offagna. A very awesome event where the whole town, where is a very beautiful stronghold, forget the modernity and go down in the middle age. Theme of this year: Paese di Magiche Stelle (Magic stars town).Of course, in this week there is also the Quintana, the top of the historical rievocations, in Ascoli Piceno (I have see some other posts about this in the forum).Many also the Feste della Trebbiatura (Threshing festivals). The threshing was, for our grandparentse and parents, a very party. All the families fo the neighborhood gathered at the farmer's house where was the machine and all togheter starting that hard, but happy, work (It can be last for more of a day). Today, with the modern machine which do almost all the work, most of this enchantment is  disapperaed but it still today in the heart of every 'marchigiano'. If you want feel a little or it, you have to go to the fest. There is one in Cingoli (MC).This week end we have also the 36° Sagra della Crescia sul Panaro (It is a sort of piadina made with polenta, cooked on a cast-iron plate, stuffed with ham, cooked vegetables or sausages and... nutella!!!). It is alway an interesting sagra and I like the crescia a lot!!!A very intersting event coul be the 'Passeggiare a Montecosaro Degustando' (Walking and tasting in Montecosaro). Montecosaro (MC), is a little old town on the top of a hill of the Chienti valley, on the right side coming from the sea. In this festival you can taste many typical dishes, taste wine, see demonstrations of ancients crafts and so on. All in a very magic atmosphere.This is my selection for you for this week-end. My choice? MMM... it is not easy... I think I will go to the last event (Montecosaro) tomorrow and have a dinner in Castelplanio, this evening (Too much good the crescia!!!).But this week-end is already started... what is about the next?A lot of event for the next too but, 2 on the top of my list:The 190° Sagra Polentara in San Costanzo (PU) and Il Cappello odi Paglia in Montappone (FM).The first is the oldest Sagra I know in Le Marche and in Italy (190 times - 190 years). And it is very particular in my opinion: They built a lot clay ovens in the town square where the polenta will be cooked. The this year edition is special : the 190th!!! So the polenta - masters have promised a lot of events. The polenta was the main food for generations of marchigiani and the popular fantasy has invented a lot of way to cook it. The polenta is special and, if it served as in the past, a party for the family. The polenta in Le Marche is not like it in the Northern Italy. It is soft and more liquid and it is served on a big wooden board where every commensal, armed with a fork or spoon take his (Or her) part.San Costanzo is a little hill-top town above Marotta (PU)The second event, il Cappello di Paglia (Straw hat), in Montappone (FM) is very interesting and tell us something about a very old activity which, in the past, had given a valuable source of income to a lot of people. To made a straw hat is became an art and Montappone was (And is) very famous for this activity. This festival try to teach us all about the straw hat, from the raw materials to the finished product. And with it, a lot of exbhitions events.My choyce for the next week-end? 190th Sagra Polentara! I want to go there by a long time. I am very curious to see the clay ovens in the square.So I have finished! I hope I have not bored you and  that you have find this post... interesting.
