I love Ryanair. You get what you pay for, and you get to where you are supposed to be on time. Thay have reduced CO2 emissions greatly by pressuring plane/engine producers to reduce fuel consumption. This is modern transport, fast, cheap efficient. Of course, if you are used to taking a taxi, going on a crowded bus is uncomfortable, but as long as it is on schedule, it will take you where you are going efficently, at a very modest price and CO2 emission compared to the taxi. You cannot get it both cheap and exclusive.
May I point you towards Pontremoli and the sorrounding area?We are currently in the process of buying there, and some of the good sides about the area are:- Immediate acces to Autostrada, and thereby short time distance to the sea or other destinations (compared to i.e. Fivizzano)- On the main railway between LaSpezia and Parma (direct trains from Pisa)- Low property prices- Few tourists and foreigners = quite an unspoilt sedate Italian town We have had good experiences with quite a few estate agents, if you want any recommendations, send me a PM. Good luck! Erik
Winnifred! We have been searching for a property in Emilia Romagna / Northern Tuscany for a while, and would like to point out the climate difference between Emilia Romagna and Lunigiana, which has made us focus on the Lunigiana side of the mountains, which has less rain and snow, and higher temperatures in the winter.I'll PM you with some details about the areas we have been researching (we've just made an offer on a property around Pontremoli). Erik
