Hi GracieJeff65, message me in private and I will send you two names of English-speaking builders in your area if you are still interested. But be warned, they cost more than local builders!Anna
There are very few beaches in Abruzzo where dogs are officially allowed. La Playa and La Prora Beach village 41 in Pescara are the nearest to Francavilla. There are free beaches for cats and dogs in Pineto and Giulianova. I sometimes take my dog to the free beach in Fossacesia.
Hi there, you might find it difficult to find a place for 3 months only as it is considered short term by local estate agents here and they are not very flexible. While looking for a rental for someone last year I found out that the standard contract they offer in Abruzzo is 4+4 years with a 6 months notice although you might be able to find something for a year. Check out the listings on Subito.it and immobiliare.it but the best way is to ask around when you are here. There are many empty houses that are not advertised and arrangements are made in person here. Hope this helps! Anna
My sister and I went to Marina di Gioiosa Ionica for a week two years ago and it was the worst holiday ever. The owner of the place where we stayed took my sister's passport for check-in and didn't want to give it back till we paid the full amount in advance, there were rats in our apartment (he insisted they were very large lizards), the town was full of rubbish bags. Nobody smiled or said hello to us in the town (we both are very friendly and I speak Italian), we were sold food that was past best before. Absolutely terrible! But you have to experience that part of Italy if you want to see the authentic side of it.
I am writing a book (a culinary travel guide) at the moment and have been doing a lot of research on promoting for self-publishers. These are the channels that I will be using myself.A great way is to offer free .pdf copies on Facebook pages for Italy expats and ask them to write reviews on Amazon in return. Having a detailed Author's page on Amazon is important too. You can also organise a web "book tour" asking a number of bloggers to review your book. And, of course, having your Facebook page and blog are paramount.
Perhaps you are talking about brandina pieghevole? they have them in IKEA. You can also buy them online: http://www.amazon.it/Brandina-Pieghevole-apribile-singolo-80x190/dp/B0085KQF0G

I know one in Pescara who speaks some English. Contact me in private if you still need the info.
