Looking for accommodations for a couple in Lucca, Verorna, Sienna, Ladipolis (Rome coast), Vico Esquense (Circumvesuvia train), Paestum and Taromina, Sicily within walking distance of the train station.
Sent them an inquiry. If I send them $$$ then do I give credit card number to Italian Hotel and they process? Is there any fee? Travelex reflected a fee for under $1,000, but that may be if they mail a check. Thanks for any clarification on how this works and cost of a transaction. Created a USAA card here that states that they have no fees to charge Euros in Europe but I was trying to find a method that is totally idiot proof.
I sent my email address through "contact" of this website to forward to you. I am planning a 4 month tour of Italy operating out of destinations for four months - constantly moving from North to Sicily. I will not have one fixed address unless a physical address at a Post Office Box will work. Some PO boxes have only a physical address and do not reflect any PO Box.I am listening to the advice of locals. Venetian Tourism advised me to visit after their last Festival, which ends September 4, Sunday, 2016. Never on the weekends. Also, I am looking for accommodations within walking distance of the train stations, never renting a car. Finally, I would like to look for ocean view property along the Circumvesuvia Train Stations from Vico Equense to S. Agnello (last stop before Sorrento). So, I do not plan on having a long term rental near any one nearest Italian Consulate. Do not plan on using this Italian Bank for many transactions at all, just holding funds without excessive fees. In the USA there are financial accounts that invest and can provide limited check writing (usually with notice). That would be perfect.
I subscribe to your circulation. I posted my inquiry concerning establishing an Italian bank account to forward funds to before I arrive in Italy. First, securing a tax code. I won't have an address and do not plan on one for my 4 month tour of Italy starting in Northern Italy in early September and ending up in Sicily in November, 2016.Trying to make sense of a bank that won't charge absurd fees for holding my funds. Just trying to get a bank account set up in Italy before my prolonged stay. Asking for advice in advance.
