At home here in the UK we have a 4 year old vine which has about 3 kilos of grapes on it. Has anyone any ideas what we can do with such a small amount (sensible please!)
A teacher asked her class how many of them were Gordon Brown fans. Not really knowing what a Gordon Brown fan is, but wanting to be liked by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny. The teacher asked Little Johnny why
Off to Venice next week! have read somewhere recently that when you go to the Basilica they have an "Eatery" where a 3 course meal costs only 13 Euros, anyone know about this?? experienced it ? queues etc.
Hi It looks like you enjoyed yourselves Palermo excepted! this is where our daughter starts this weekend. then driving down to Taormina from there they fly to Florence. I think pick the car up IN Palermo!
Hi our daughter is going to Sicily in October. First to Palermo then getting a car to go to Taormina. Has anyone any helpful suggestions re visits and the Traveling between the places please.? thanks Masterphoto
We have recently returned from a Trasimeno hotel NO TAX. then when in Vinci there was an 2 euro tax per person per night. It was interesting to see nobody in the resturants when the footy was on ! so service was quick. M
Yes we have just returned from Italy. We usually use Hertz have been happy with them on the whole. They gave us the option to return full or empty. Just for the record the Petrol filling station on the FPL nearest the airport is Closed, so I think the nearest one is the one 10.5 kms away. we filled up there and still showed full. masterphoto
Thanks for all the comments, With Stilton sounds great but they have pips!!! ( the grapes) We have since made some Grape jelly by mashing up after boiling, in a processer then through a sieve, then boiling with sugar and it set quickly and has bottled well, tastes a little like honey as is sweet, but we still have a lot of bunches left to deal with. I notice no sarcastic comments about being underage!
Yes an interesting site which I am sure we will find useful as we go there next week , just hoping NO strikes!! We are not new to Venice and have seen the acqua alta before, just be higher I expect as full moon...We love Italy last year spent a week in Firenze just before Natale.
Hi Carolina Yes Lucca is a must if you are able to go. If you are interested in Leonardo then try to get to Vinci to the museums there. I wonder where you are going first? south you say. m
HI Charlotte We visit the lake every year from the UK as visitors, love it in the winter with all the birds on the water, no tourists!!! Assuming you are mobile Monte Del Lago is a lovely interesting village (no shops) as long as you do steps, and walk along the shore if you wish at the bottom. Park at the top don`t try to go down.We have stayed there several times . also on the way there San Feliciano plenty of places to eat,and shops. Going to be HOT, enjoy your stay Masterphoto
