Just booked car hire on line for Ancona at the end of may via the Auto Europa website. I haven't used them previously. Booking went in and was confirmed very quickly with the usual follow up email.
Found a couple of decent guide/map books for Sibillini walking and mountain biking in the tourist info place at San Ginesio last year, which I assume would be generally available elsewhere.
Re the comment in the previous post about decking - as we don't get to our house at San Ginesio as often as we'd like each visit tends to commence with a day or two of digging out the new weeds from our 6m x 4m "garden". We thought that putting decking in could be an answer so started looking in the DIYs on our last visit, but there seems to be a distinct lack of the sort of stuff we can get everywhere in the UK. Does anyone know of any place that stocks decking? Or will I have to sort out a road trip from the local B&Q.
Trying it on may 27th - travelling from Newcastle so avoids an overnight stay around Stansted, and should be able to get to San Ginesio by 10pm. Will report back on how it goes.
We flew back from Ancona 6th april - our 1 suitcase was 2 kilos over so we moved a few things into hand luggage. My wife got called over for her hand luggage to be weighed - it was the bigger of our 2 "handcases". As mostly it contained 2 big easter eggs it was well within the 10k limit - luckily they didn't ask to weigh mine!! In future I think I'll wear cycling tops for the journey (they're not all multicoloured lycra) which have 3 big pockets in the back which I'm sure will carry several kilos of stuff ....
The other advantage with using the Nationwide debit is that they don't charge the 2-3% that others do to take out your money - and the exchange rate has always seemed reasonable when I've used it.
Did find some sort of link to this years listing a couple of weeks back but not sure where. From musicclub.it9/7 Joan As Policewoman10/7 Vasti Jackson12/7 Otis Taylor22/7 Bob Margolin24/7 Matt Schofield Bandand others. Matt Schofield definitely very highly recommended though I haven't managed to see him yetI'm seeing Derek Trucks (currently plays mean slide guitar with Allman Brothers as well as his own band) here at home in Newcastle next week - he's apparently got 3 Italian Blues Festival gigs in the next few days, though not San Severino, though I think one is in Abruzzo.Unfortunately I'm not back in le Marche until mid august so will miss all this, but will probably catch local AC/DC and Led Zeppelin tribute bands at Loro Piceno Vino Cotto Festival next month

Anyone out there got any news of whether there's been any effect in le Marche? I'm due to fly out on thursday to Venice and drive down to San Ginesio.

Interesting name - is that Monkseaton the one in Tyne and Wear? If so, we live in Washington. If not ignore this ....
