I've 2 weeks left in Italy having been here for 2 years. Up a mountain in a village where we increased the population of the village by a third when we moved in. We are 4! 2 adults and 2 kids. Best 2 years we've ever had.
What age is your child? Kids don't normslly start school here until they are 6. But there is a pre school system, called the Azilo (Azelo?), in most communé, where 3 to 6 year olds can attend. It's a type of hybrid between a montessori and junior infants in a primary school as we know it.Our soon to be 5 year old has been going to the local Azilo since January and has just started his second term on schools reopening in september. He loves it!
I'm 450m up a hill, south west facing and the back of the house is very well sheltered on 3 sides. Will I have a chance of keeping bougainvilliea? And to grow it in a large pot? And no, the locals are not growing it, but I think largely because they are too busy farming rather than thinking it won't do well. Any thoughts?
talk to Oliver in Italsure. Not only did he make it easy for us to insure our UK car here, but we just put in a claim due to an accident that wasnt our fault and he made it very easy for us to deal with the whole process. Couldnt recomend him highly enough. And no, he's not my cousin!
I was told that there was a tremor of 2.4 in Aulla, Lunigiana the other night. We were having huge thunder storms for 2 days and the house was shaking with them already so I never noticed a tremor. Anyone else?

Da Giorgio, about 4 blocks back from trhe main beach road. fantastic sea food. I've eaten there 3 times now and been really impressed with every meal.
