Dear all, I have quite a bit of land in southern sicily and have been told that you need to have a 6ft fence around the perimeter of your land to legally stop hunters and anyone else coming onto your land.  6ft seems quite high.  Does anyone know

Thank you everyone for your comments they are greatly appreciated. A neighbour cultivates the land, meanwhile someone else locally looks after the wine and olives, should we have carta privatas drawn up for both of them.

I am in the process of letting a neighbour grow crops on my land to keep it fertile, I do not pay him and he does not pay me as there is no monetary gain for either parties. I am quite happy with this arrangement but does he have any legal rights over my land now or in the future.  Would I be better off making him sign sort of legal document so that he would be unable to exercise any rights over my land in the future.

Can anyone help.  We want to have our windows made and installed before we plaster the entire inside of our house but we have been told by the builders that we must plaster the house first.  Is this true.  It is causing a bit of a problem at the moment as we need to make our house as airtight as possible.  In England you can have windows put in first.  So we naturally assumed you could do the same in italy.  Are the builders in italy trying it on or are they being honest.

My gardener in italy is looking after my olive trees and keeps half the crop for himself, does anyone know how he will get per litre of oil if he sells it.  Also when are the trees pruned and when are the olives picked.
