The area provides great walking for me in the mountains and then the villages and valleys keep the family happy!We have found the locals both friendly and very helpful, but echo a previous comment about the cost of building work etc it is pricey! I also find DIY materials far more costly than the UK.I think if you look carefully you would find a property for e100k but you would be in a mountain village in most cases. We love that but it is not everyones ideal.We bought in 2007 and used Benito at "housesintuscany.net" and found him extremely helpful. The website usually has a good selection of property on it. Good luck!
