If I were you I'd ditch both house insurance policies and get a UK one - which includes earthquake cover, unlike any Italian policy. I love Italy and Italians but insurance is not one of their specialities (unless you're on the selling side of course ) and I have the absolute minimum: responsabilità civile for the car 'cos it's the law.
Well, without knowing how big it is, it's rather difficult! If it is sardine tin sized, then both these suggestions are ridiculous. However it's clearly home made as in all my years of rummaging around the mercatini, I've never seen anything similar. Bedwarmers usually have a hook to hang from the "prete" and not scorch the sheets. Boh!

In Tuscany they're delightfully called "pomi" I too thought it must be a "pomo"
