This is a bit of a silly question I am sure but making plans for a renovation project and the subject of an Electrical supply for the property crops up (it has an existing suppy). I am used to having a 100amp single phase supply (approximately 2
Been using a Tim (Alice) dongle in the house half way up a mountain in Abruzzi for a couple of years now whilst on holiday, seems to work OK. I admit it was not as easy to obtain as one in the UK (be easier as my language skills improve) but it costs me around 10 Euro's a month to keep in touch via e-mail and Skype so pretty good, not really good enough for video Skype but hey I am on holliday.
Thanks to all for the replies great stuff Badger that is all I needed to know the fact that it is possible. To be honest been using electric underfloor heating for years and it seems to work pretty well, just need to get the insulation of the rooms sorted out. Also the fact the floor height is only increased by 20mm or so helps. Having spent the last 27 years in a house with only Electricity as a source of energy Gas is an alien concept, well kind of. I guess a small wood burner will be installed in the lounge, but hopefully more for cosmetics than necessity. I would rather not spend my dotage hauling logs Thanks again great site, certainly a mine of information.
Thanks all this is very interesting however would not be in a possition to begin work on this project by Decemer so I guess this is another scheme I have missed out on. Oh well, still sounds like a good plan to get some of the bills down.
Sorry to be thick hope I have got this correct but I am not sure. As I understand it an average cost of a Solar PV installation (in UK for example) is between 10 and 15,000 pounds (roughly the same as Euro's for this question). A non resident of Italy would have no visible income in Italy, so, a bank requests a 10,000 Euro deposit on a 10-15,000 Euro installation it sounds to me like you would be better off using the original 10,000 Euro's deposit as part payment for the installation and borrowing any shortfall. Or have lost the plot, which is possible due to age and insanity. Still interested in a PV installation though. It has to be a good idea, just the funding may be a challenge.
Indeed welcome, I will be interested in seeing any information you get on this subject. My wife and I are in the process of purchasing a property in Carunchio with the veiw to renovation and provision of a holiday and finally a retirement home for ourselves. Hopefully using modern techniques to renovate an older property to make it much more energy efficient, which seems to be a bit of an alien concept reading through some of the posts on this excellent site. Good luck.
I must admit I wish there were an easy alternative to Ryanair Stanstead to Pescara, sadly there is not. Only answer I have found is Hand luggage only, check in on line, priority boarding and good ear plugs to block the announcements and continual sales pitches that come over the PA. True the fleet is very modern and the cabin staff have always been very helpful and polite, so, I will continue to complain and also still fly Ryanair.
Just a thought but how about buying one, then after you have finished your project sell the thing on e-bay. I know that is what quite a few people do, if you buy good tools they tend to hold their value quite well.
All I can say is just have patience, (It has seemed to take forever to find a suitable project in the area we wanted), then be prepared for a few dissapointments on the way( we lost a couple of very nice properties through who knows what). However you will get there. But certainly spend the time and do the research. Good Luck.
