Ciao tutti! I'm trying to put together a list of the Best Italian Films and I would love your input and expertise. I remember watching "Il Postino" as a teenager and that was probably the first time that the idea of living in Italy really took hol
Ciao! I am currently using 3 for internet, but I was wondering if anyone has good or bad experiences to share about getting internet installed in your home in Italy? What is the best internet service provider in Italy?
Does anyone have any tips or advice on getting a permesso di soggiorno? I know that I need one as a non-Italian, living in Italy, but the guidelines are unclear. I've picked up the packet at the post office and given them all my documents.
Oh thank goodness. The fabbro told me it would be 350 for a new lock. Luckily, he was able to fix the one we have! With a screw driver and a mallet, he knocked the old key straight out. Destroyed the key, but not the lock. If anyone needs a locksmith in Rome, let me know. Fabrizio was great! CAREFUL with your crazy Italian locks and keys. I got a lecture about how I must always pull the door towards me when locking and unlocking the door.
Hi everyone! Thank you for the advice. It's been crazy trying to get a locksmith to come out. An 'emergency' visit costs 200 euro!! So we've been patiently waiting for an appointment. Really hoping that it's possible to remove the key and use the same lock. As far as I can see, there are no loose screws or broken parts. We have a double lock that needs to be turned twice and it seems like the key was stuck mid-turn, so now it's in there "upside down."
Thanks so much for all the tips! I can't wait to watch these! I think the only Italian movie I have watched in the last few months was "Pane e Tulipani" (which was very sweet and funny)
High winds are also causing all kinds of problems. Thoughts and prayers with everyone impacted by the storms. We're getting peaks of sun today in Rome, but I don't expect it to last. The pure deluge we've been having the last few days was incredible.
Thanks so much. They do have my cell and mailing address, I was just afraid I would have to be doing some mind reading to know when it was done. Not really trusting them to tell me. It's been about two months now, but I suppose I will wait a little longer.
