Am going to get the 8.00 pm Dover/Calais ferry, then drive from Calais to Genoa to get ferry to Palermo. Should arrive Calais 11.00 pm local time, ferry from Genoa is 11.00 pm next day.

Car Hire, Trapani

Got caught out by Maggiore's after hour charge due to time of Ryanair flight. Additional £55.00 added, so would have been cheaper (and quicker) to have stayed with Hertz, who I normally use.

Thanks. Doing jouney on a budget, so plan to 'cat-nap' in the car. Stop for a decent meal early afternoon would be good. Is it best via Switzerland, or head for south of France ?
