Venafro (Molise)

Venafro is a comune (municipality) in the province of Isernia, in the region of Molise. The town can be divided into two distinct areas: the old town, of Roman origin, enclosed by walls and dominated by Castle Pandone, and the new town that has several newly developed neighbourhoods. A large number of churches in the territory gave in Venafro the epithet 'City of 33 Churches'. It is a matter of many churches of size and various epochs in the historical centre and in the foothills area. The Regional Park historical agricultural dell'Olivo in Venafro, also called Parco Oraziano Campaglione or, is the first regional park of Molise, established with a regional law in order to safeguard the heritage of olive cultivation of this territory.

Hi all,

I am asking a question that has been asked, no doubt, many times. I plan on getting the ferry to Cherbourg from Ireland in June and travelling to Molise. I will have 2 children and a dog for company. Any advice on routes, stop overs, etc. would be gratefully appreciated.
