8647 Hello from two new members

Hello everyone:smile:from Valerie & Tony Ward.
We have read all the Italy magazines ever since they were first published & I still have all the back issues!!
This year we will have owned our own piece of paradise in the hills behind Cortona for 5 years. We still get a thrill everytime we navigate the mountain road that takes us to our house-an old stone farmhouse perched on the side of the mountain overlooking the Val di Chiana.
We hope to move there permanently one day, it's getting more & more difficult to pack up & leave each time.
We don't have a 'posh' house it's quite basic really but very pretty & so peaceful.
We are hoping to install a swimming pool before too long & make some other alterations to the house so if anyone knows of a good reliable Geometra local to Cortona we would be grateful for any advice.

A warm welcom to you both.

Loved your introduction especially the bit about not being a posh house, but being very pretty and so peaceful.

To me that is what living in Italy is all about.

Fingers crossed for the permanent move and sorry don't know any Geometras in your area.

Welcome Valerie and Tony. You are lucky to be so close to Cortona. We had a short visit there a year ago and loved it. After the film and all the hype I was expecting to find it over touristy and ultra glam but it felt quite real and thriving. Beautiful views too.

Hi Valeria and Tony

We're just up the road in Arezzo. I wrote some articles for the mag. so you might know a little of our story already. We have been here just short of 5 years.

Best wishes
