There is a young Setter

There is a young Setter which has been living in a barn nearby since the beginning of Feb, dumped by hunters we think, he's about 2. I know I shouldn’t have fed him but he was getting very thin and none of our neighbours would do anything, now the weather is getting better it is turning out to be a bit of a nightmare. Our dog has come 'into contact' with him a couple of times and we were forced to part them (the setter is extremely timid and didn't fight back). He didn’t sustain any injuries and now he sits on our doorstep constantly, he must be desperate as he knows our dog would probably cause him serious damage. Our dog is now virtually a prisoner in his own home, we have a muzzle which we have to use, but it’s really not practical there are no fences here so we cannot let him out. Is there anyone out there who is looking for a beautiful dog or knows of anyone, I’m sure a he would make a good hunting dog, but he’s so gentle and friendly that he would make a lovely pet, I’d hate the thought of him being caged or chained up all day but I’m getting desperate now. He’s a white and red (ginger) setter around 2 year’s old, lovely nature, affectionate and doesn’t eat much; I have some lovely pictures of him too. We are in the Civitella M.R, Fara, Casoli area. Please, please, please, is there’s anyone out there who can help?
