8689 Restaurant outside Monterchi

Hi
There is a restaurant just outside Monterchi that I can't remember the name of. Can anyone tell me? The food is wonderful and I want to recommend it to someone.

If you mean Monterchi, near Sansepolcro, then it is possibly La Pieve Vecchia.
On the road to Citta di Castello.
Have also been there a few times, wonderful Sunday lunch, pretty good midweek and but very poor pizza (possibly the worst we have had in Italy - maybe a bad pizza day) once last Summer.

Did you ask sometime ago about the ss73 from Arezzo to Sansepolcro - they opened the duel carriage 'bypass from just before Palazzo del Pero to Le Ville just before Christmas.
The wonderful truffle man (Niccio?) who used to have a 'shop' on the 'old' road has moved now to Le Ville. You can see his new shop just when you come off the new bypass (from Arezzo), it is next to the pizza place.

Just going to do tagliatelle with truffle... visited his shop yesterday and bought 1 black truffle (about 10euros!!)

Black truffles 800 euros per kilo
White ........................................3200 euros per kilo (no I didn't buy any :no:)

Yes that's the one - I couldn't remember the name - it's good news about the road. It's even quicker to get to Arezzo now - we both love Arezzo - that's great.

Sorry No. It's held up at Monterchi because the village disapprove. More East than that I have no information.

The section they just opened, see above, was at least five years in the making... let alone the planning. When we arrived 5 years ago it was only just a little less finished than last month!

However, the Siena stretch is now almost complete from just near Lucignano to very outskirts of Siena. It's great. Less than an hour to Siena from here.

ps Its called the Due Mari (ss73) the hope is to link seas east and west of central italy.
