Hi Turtle,
We are looking to go down the same route, but have only thought as far as taking them out with us.
As for board games on your honeymoon - have you never heard of forfeits?

Hi Sally
no problem!
Guests can be very interesting ...... just suggested to one enquirer that nude sun bathing in front of Nona's window might not be a great idea..
ps when guests want to play 'games' they usually bring their own,,,,, does anyone need any red bondage tape...

Have you bought them "Twister"??? lol
In reply to A newbie all over again! by Annec
No, but it sounds like a great idea...

For scrabble, buy the game in Holland (unless you play in Dutch). Think about it....all those j's and k's to get rid of!
It was suggested a while ago on the Forum that it's a good idea to have board games in a property you are renting out. Rather than having to carry them out from the UK, where would I find them to buy in Italy???
There is a 'Toys R Us' equivalent here in Italy that stock the usual range of board games so you should be able to stock up there, alternatively, many of the larger supermarkets ie Cityper, Auchan, Carrefour etc also sell board games but do not have quite the same selection.

Yes I seem to remember Auchan in Avignon and wondered if Auchan in Pescara might be the same.
Any idea of the Toys R Us' equivalent though???

Hi Anne2
These games, bought in italy, would be fine if you had an understanding of italian, most of our guests do not. Not many products in italy come with multi-lingual instruction leaflets.... much to my grief when trying to work something out... however, great for improving my italian.

My property is catering for both Italians and Non Italians.

Does Italian Scrabble exist??? Do Italians play Backgammon or Chess avidly or very little???

Obviously if bought in Italy you would have to expect the rules to be in Italian. I guess I was assuming that Turtle was considering buying traditional popular games where the chances are her guests are already aware of the rules so language is not an issue ie Monopoly, Cluedo, Scrabble ( I know the proportions of letters differs, but is still possble to play in English), Backgammon, Chess etc.

Yes it does. The proportions of each letter is slightly diferent but Italian Scrabble exists. Judging by the selection of Backgammon and chess boards around both must be fairly common.

Let's pay more attention to such models as CS GO at https://csgobettings.com/farmskins/. This allows players to forget about the unreality of what is happening and to write down the seriousness of the gaming process. Most importantly, you can make real money thanks to betting
Hi Sally
We've done this at La Torre for years, and it has proved very popular. I brought loads over from the UK when we moved here and when in the UK I usually get one or two more - up to date trivial pursuit. etc.
