8772 Assisi

Sorry if the mods think this should be in the 'Travel' section...

My sister is a devout member of the Third Order of St Francis of Assisi, and has already been on one pilgrimage to Assisi. She is now in the process of planning another, and although she will have some practical help and guidance from the Third Order, and other religious organisations, I was wondering whether there is any kind person out there who might be able to help me help her?
What I am looking for are maps, of Assisi and the surrounding area, as large scale as possible, as she wants to plan a walking tour. I live in Abruzzo, does anyone have an idea of the best sort of map that I can buy and send her? Also, if any one has any other help or advice to offer, I would be very grateful! Many thanks for reading...

I am sure Assisi has a tourist info place, just Google 'Assisi information' or similar and take it from there. Very fond of the place so good luck.

I had a quick look at "trekking in Assisi" and it looks as if there are quite a few things to do both organised and on your own. I only know the city itself and surrounding area by car. The Foligno section of CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) publish an excellent 1:25000 map of Monte Subasio including Assisi, with details of waymarked footpaths etc.

You can phone them on 0742 22921, or email caifoligno@tin.it and ask for the Carta dei Sentieri del Monte Subasio. I'm not sure, but I think that I paid 10 euros.
