Hi
A lot will depend on the sizr of your dish and also, your other equipment such as receiver may play a part.
As a comparable, I have a motorhome with an 85cm dish on the roof. I can watch BBC and ITV around Lake Garda. Much further south, and I lose these channels but still keep a good number.
The programs are broadcast under what is known as North Beam, South Beam and ASTRA2D. The further away you are from the main focus of the satellite, the more channels you will lose, unless the size of the dish increases. ASTRA2D is focused on the UK primarily, and I was once told that Chester was the primary point.
If you take a look at a website called Astra 2D Website - Sky Digital - Sky+ - Freesat - Freeview - UK TV Overseas there is much info there about satellite overseas. The website also lists which programs are on northbeam, southbeam and ASTRA2D.
I hope the link is useful.
Russell
