!, depends what you want. 120cm dish will allow you to recieve certainly those transponders located on Astra 2a and 2b south beam, also astra 2c see here:

Doesn't the movie section of Sky Italia allow you to choose what language you use. So at least you can watch English-language movies in the original.

yes, and the same people in comunanza who can sell you a tv will also advise and install a dish for you.

I have Italian Sky & have changed the default language to English so anything transmitted in both languages is automatically shown to me in English. there are some great channels which show a good range of American & English programmes which are up to date eg. the latest series of lost & Ugly Betty are about to start,howver am a bit cheesed off as they seem to only be showing the new NCIS in Italian, but this has never happened before. We also get Discovery & national Geographic channels so we get documentaries and moer inportantly Top Gear (2007 series at the mo). We also get Englsih Sky News, BBC World & BBC Prime which I find particularly useful as they transmit all their programmes in English with Italian subtitles- you can pick up some very handy phrases. Jimmy & Hallmark also show a lot of Englsih progammes. I think a basic package (no films or sport) is about €18 per month and you can also get MY Sky (the Italian equivalent of SKy+). We also found Sky a really cost effective way of getting satellite TV as the local guy wanted to charge us €450 to put cabling & a dish up (the box was extra) but I think Sky cost us €99

Yes, Helen, NCIS seems to have gone completely into Italian, as I used to like that as well. The other problems are that some foreign films are only transmitted in their language with Italian sub-titles, even if you have the language set to English. According to the guy in Amandola who does the Sky service there is no way of changing that, so its just a case of live with it!!! Murdoch seems to have got it all ways!!!!

IIRC the UK freeview are all targetted at the UK and will need a fair sized dish and good LNB to receive anything in Le Marche. Sky being scrambled has a wider beam.
Between the german [19 degrees Astra?] and the Italian one [13 degrees Hotbird] you'll get
BBC world. A news channel which is actually on Italian digital terrestial.
CNN International
CNBC
Bloomberg Europe
Euronews
An English news channel from France
Lots of news . Other then that I'm not sure what other English channels are on there. At least I haven't noticed. I think I've seen Voice of America but haven't taken the time to actually look.
