9186 Food near Rimini airport

Thanks to good old Ryanair cancelling the Liverpool- Ancona flight I have to pick my parents up from Rimini airport at 8pm on Friday night. Does anyone know of any reasonably priced restaurants with good food near the airport? (If not it's sandwiches & a flask of tea!!)

Hi

Rimini airport is basically in Riccione and there are lots of good restaurants here all within 10 mins drive of Rimini airport. I would head directly to the centre of Riccione and drive along the promenade (driving south). Some of the restaurants will be definately be open there on Friday night. We have eaten at many of the restaurants along this stretch and they all serve a good selection of food. There are 2 that we often go to.... Ristorante Frenck, (tel: 0541 606692), which is on the beach side of the prom, close to spiaggia 68, near the centre of Riccione, close to Hotel Abners Best Western.... the other restaurant we like, which is cheaper, is only a 2 minute walk from here along the prom, is called Osteria del Mare. It has a bigger choice than the other restaurant and maybe a better choice for your parents (pizza/pasta/seafood etc...) ... its good value too.. they have a website Osteria del Mare - Riccione - Ristorante Riccione, mangiare pesce a Riccione, pizzerie Riccione, enoteca Riccione, lungomare Riccione
I will be using the East Midlands - Rimini route tomorrow and am going there to eat!

Thanks a lot for this- there's nothing like a recommendation! Think we will try the Osteria del Mare- liked the website (though this is not my primary reason for going there)

I apologise for re-visiting an old thread but wanted to share with you details of our visit to Osteria del Mare on Friday 11 April ............. it was not good to say the least. The fish displayed in the cabinet as we walked in were anything but fresh but against our better instincts we continued inside and sat down. To cut a long story short the fish was over cooked and partailly inedible the salad was undressed and tasteless. The house wine was disgusting and to add insult to injury the waiter attempted to over charge us by providing us with an bill which itemised items we did not order or receive!
Needless to say we will not be eating there again and am very glad to say restaurants near to our house in Le Marche are superb.

picked up the parents again last night & had dinner at Trampolines on the lungomare in Riccione. Had a nice meal (husband ate himself into a coma by having the Fiorentina!)& it had a friendly atmosphere & best of all you didn't have to bounce up & down while eating!!!!
