9195 a vile story...

i just received an e-mail from an italian pressure group campaigning to stop a certain "exhibit" otherwise destined to appear at the biennale 2008.
The exhibit has already been "shown" in a central american " art exhibition"
consists in a stray dog tied to a short lead then it is allowed to die without food or water over the following days.I apologise for not having attached the appalling photographs of this horror story i just had to cancel them...what is even more unbelievable is that some "person" thinks/thought that this should be "shown" here too!!!! ....photos complete with guests presumably to the vernissage withtheir drinks "casually looking" into this tiny space with the dog dying slowly in it's own excrement etc
unbelievable....
sorry about that but i just had to tell someone.

Thanks, Sebastiano.
Just wonder how far sick people will go to show what cruelty sickens animal lovers all over the world. Pity they don't have the same done to them, perhaps then they would know suffering!! I do hope that the pressure group manages to get it removed.

Just done a 'Google' on this - found nothing about any exhibition.

Could this be someones idea of a sick joke?

.

your google needs fixed.

obviously don't click if subject matter would unduly distress you.

petition (in Spanish, but genuine) against exhibit @ bienal centroamericana here : Boicot a la presencia de Guillermo Habacuc Vargas en la Bienal Centroamericana Honduras 2008 Petition

an english site with loose translation of the above petition here:
Care2 - HERE ARE EMAIL ADRESSES OF THE GALLERIES THAT SHOW GUILLERMO HABACUC VARGAS' WORK, PLEASE EMAIL THEM !!!

might be a good idea if all 6000 members on here email them!!!! Sure they would love that, as they are obviously as sick as he is for showing his work!!!

Absolutely sickening. The so called "artist" should be prosecuted.

Shows how lax the laws are in many countries allowing this. Watched a programme on Discovery, where in the US the equivalent to the RSPCA are like police and also use the police in prosecutions. In the UK, the police don't really want to know and it shows by the way that the RSPCA have to fight everything basically on their own.
Those countries that allow that type of "artistry" are still obviously living in the Middle Ages.
As Gala says the "Artist" should have been prosecuted, or better still treated in the same way as the dog.

This "art" is truly disgusting, thank you Sebastiano for bringing to our attention, and to Pigro for providing the links. I am trying to sign the petition but have trouble with the last box Paas ?, would someone please explain plse.
Thanks
Angie

The last box should read PAIS (Country). Put the name of your country of residence. There has been a problem, with the Spanish keyboard used.

Just pust your location in the box above and then Italy in the Paas box, then it should be ok

Well, Geotherm, you have to be quick to get as many signatures as possible. With mine we were over 1,529,000 approx. I hope this will stop this psychopath from torturing any more animals. If he feels an overwhelming rejection he will not "create" more horrors. Well, they say that Nero burnt Rome as an artistic creation.... Some people are really sick.

I have just signed the petition and received an acknowledgement.

My view entirely Gala.............. everyday we hear of more. The civilised world seems to be going backwards with so many of these things coming out in the open and especially being classed as "arts of work"

Thank you Sebastian for bringing this sick 'art' to out attention. I have signed the petition and forwarded the details to friends. Like Sally, I have received an acknowledgment. I am not a dog lover but this is disgusting, degrading and downright obscene.
Annie.
