9246 Hello all

Hi,
Me and my girlfriend are thinking about buying a holiday home in Abruzzo. I'm flying over in may to have a look around and was wondering if anyone can suggest a couple of nice towns I can check out. we are hoping to find a town that has plenty of restaurants and no more than 20 mins from a nice beach.

Thanks in advance,

Jamie.

Hi Jamie and welcome. Difficult question. A nice city with plenty of restaurants and a beach actually in the centre is Pescara. However prices are incredibly high there like any European city. There are smaller resorts on the outskirts and on the coast like Montesilvano and, Silvi (Marina), but I reckon expensive too. Chieti is a large city and 10 minutes from Pescara. Maybe try Città SantAngelo which is about 25 minutes east of Pescara.

Hi Jamie, and welcome to the Forums. You will get plenty of good advice from people who have properties in the area and who are members. I simply wish you all the best with your plans and my advice is to take your time and look around as much as you can before buying. Cheers,

my wife and i have bought in abruzzo and are moving out there shortly.
we did numerous research trips and stayed in various places none of which we disliked.
lanciano, penne, laquila are all nice.pescara is ok too.have you thought about staying a few nights in different places?

A belatd thanks for all the posts.

I'll be in abruzzo from Thurday to Tuesday so im hoping to stay in differet towns each night as Simon has suggested. My main reason for this trip is to decide what area we want and then I'm going to do a house hunt later in th year. any suggestions on a a round trip from the airport with 5 nights in different towns would be good. I cant wait to get over there, everyone keeps telling me how freindly the Italians are.

you dont say which thur tues i have sent you a pm we have lived here for 4 years perhaps we can meet up for acoffee any advice will be freely and gladly given
