9317 Cracking The Cheese

I came across this expression, Cracking The Cheese" by chance earlier this evening whilst in that large American food shop Wholefoods Market in central London, I've mentioned before. They were holding an inter branch competition to "crack the cheese" The cheese in question was Parmgiano Reggiano. Tasty morsels and Prosecco ensued.

What I'm wondering is this a known term for "cutting the wheel", another one used??? Is there also an expression in Italian does anyone know???

I think mabe what you heard was........who cut the cheese.........It means who farted

I'm American but I've never heard the term 'cracking the cheese'. I have howerver, heard the term deborahandricky referred to....but hopefully that wasnt what you heard while shopping!
