9366 It's a grand life

Sat here at the computer idly looking out of the French windows onto the balcony, sun shinning, olive trees waving at me, and the red kites swooping and soaring, a cloudless blue sky, Italian coffee cooling in a cup at my side, and Radio 4 on in the background...what more can one want?

So, you have Radio 4! You are blessed. Lived here for 10 months without Radio 4, it's been hell. I mean World Service.......What's that. I will be shot down in flames here. I can feel it.

Hi Sprat

Just wondered if you have a tv. and sky (uk) because we receive radio 4 through the tv via our sky uk subscription. The sat. beam has been reduced so much that all we get at the moment is channel 4, sky news, crap film stuff BUT we do get radio 4 and some others like jazz etc. But we are content to pay for the full package, and not discuss anything with sky, just to get radio 4 and channel 4.

Its also lovely here in Arezzo today, a drying wind, warm20oC and spring is springing. Today's guests look like they will be luckier than last weeks.

Off to the UK to see children and grandchild, so catch up with you all soon.

Buona Domenica
Aretina.

Hi Aretina,
Tried to get Sky t.v U.K but unfortunately I'm told that unless you get Sky to fix a satelitte dish and "plug" you in they will not provide. Anyone know anymore?
Have a lovely time Aretina

Ok i have to say i am shooting from the hip here, but there is always a way round this type of thing.

Now i know our sky boxes are matched to the boxes, but maybe a search of some of the satilite tv type forums could give you the info you need.....

Hi Aretina,

if you are coming to the UK, make sure you pack some warm clothing, as it is mighty chilly here at the moment!

Yes fully agree, what more could you want, radio four rather nice to have, but do you know I can do without the telly quite easily. Am in UK at present and can confirm cold and windy. Back in Italy soon - good-oh!

So it is, made our tomato wigwams and planted 24 plants, also put in 10 peppers and 2 cherry,2 apple and a pear tree, ( thats 15 in total for the week), just come back from a friends house where we had a great curry and loads of great stories, now off to have a final beer on the terrace with my FBLOH, who has promised me a cup of earl Grey, (black tin) beans on toast and a toasted marmite sandwich for brekkies ..............nah, it don't get no better:yes::smile::laughs::bigergrin:

PS....and I forgot...........I have the latest DR.Who, and the now show to see and listen to after that............:smile::smile::smile:
