9407 Get togethers or groups

I am moving to near Naples (Avellino) this year from London,to live with my Italian fella.
I dont speak the language, but will of course try to learn.
Is there anybody who is English speaking who would like to have some coffee,lunch,days out? Or does anybody know of any existing groups in the area?
It may be a lonely time when I first move out there and dont know anybody.And an occasional get together with others would be nice.

Hi I do hope your future in Italy will be a happy one. I can understand about the initial settling in period but most Italians are very pleased that you try to speak the language and will help whenever possible. Some UK folk in Italy avoid too much socialising with other Brits as they are trying to integrate as Italians rather than expats in a foreign land but other people take a slightly different view and enjoy meeting others to socialise in an English setting.
I hope you get whatever you need, particularly in the early days

Thanks for the kind words. I am having some Italian lessons already,but its early days yet!!
I know the Italians in the area are very friendly, I just thought it might help with the homesickness to meet the occasional Brit..!!
